Take Charge Electric is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Electrical Sales & Estimating Trainee to join our team. This entry-level position is designed for individuals interested in building a career in electrical sales, estimating, and project management. The trainee will work closely with senior estimators and sales staff to learn how to prepare accurate bids, build customer relationships, and support the growth of our residential and commercial electrical projects.
This role is perfect for someone with strong communication skills, a willingness to learn, and an interest in the construction or electrical industry.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist senior estimators in preparing job estimates, including gathering material and labor costs.
- Review project plans, specifications, and site details under supervision.
- Input data into estimating software and generate preliminary take-offs.
- Support sales staff by preparing proposals, quotes, and customer follow-ups.
- Attend job site visits with senior team members to learn scope development and customer interactions.
- Communicate with vendors and suppliers to obtain accurate pricing and availability.
- Learn to build and maintain strong customer relationships through professional communication.
- Provide general administrative support for the estimating and sales team.
- Participate in training to develop technical knowledge of electrical systems and industry practices.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent (Associate’s or Bachelor’s in construction management, business, or related field is a plus).
- Strong math, analytical, and organizational skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Willingness to learn estimating software (training provided).
- Interest in the electrical or construction industry.
- Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.
- Ability to occasionally visit job sites (must be comfortable with construction environments).
