Last Updated: October 8, 2020

Are you a military professional? Make your second career as meaningful as your first one. Whether you are a pilot or airman in the Air Force, a soldier in the Army, a rifleman in the Marines, or defending our shores as a Coast Guard member or Navy sailor, we speak your language.

Are you a Guardsman or Reservist looking for a new career or second career? First Command is proud of our advisors and employees who serve our country. As a member of the Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR), we are committed to supporting our Guardsmen and Reservists.

Are you a military spouse in search of a rewarding and portable career? Many of our Advisors and employees are military spouses. As a Financial Advisor, you can move your business with you and continue your career with First Command when you PCS with your active duty spouse. We have offices located worldwide, near every major military installation. No more job searches after every PCS!

We have seen time and time again how the skills acquired during military service and successful business leadership are the same skills needed to be successful as a First Command Advisor. These skills include mission-first focus, strategic thinking, discipline, follow-through and a commitment to serve others and make a difference.

To be a successful Financial Advisor, you don’t need to have prior experience in financial services. We’re more focused on hiring leaders who understand and have a passion for serving the military community. Our training programs are designed to teach you everything you need to know. We hire leaders, and for those who answer the call, joining the First Command team can be the start of a very rewarding career.

When you become a First Command Financial Advisor, you will be a vital part of the First Command Team. You will be joining an organization that values you, honors you and supports your desire to be the driving force behind your own career. And as a First Command Financial Advisor you can continue to stay connected to the military community in a meaningful way. You will be adding value to the lives of members of the military community by helping clients pursue their financial objectives and goals.

At First Command, we offer you a place to put your passion for service to work, the training and support to launch a career and grow a business, rewards to build your personal financial security, and the opportunity to advance your career in leadership positions at the district, division and corporate level.

First Command’s career model offers you the structure and support to acquire, expand and master your competencies and grow a thriving practice.

  • For the first nine months as an Employee-Advisor, you receive initial compensation plus support for expenses such as office rent, supplies and administrative support. In addition, you are eligible for insurance benefits after 90 days.
  • You will receive comprehensive education and training and career-long professional development opportunities.
